Remember that you aren't responsible for what happened to you. Confiding in friends and family members can help you through your recovery. Allow the people closest to you to support you. 3. Start therapy.

4. Get involved in your community.

Abusers often isolate their victims from others because it's easier to maintain control that way. Once you're out of an abusive relationship, you may find that you have very few ties to the people around you. Getting involved in your community can help you rebuild the relationships you lost.
